04-May-2023

As we are aware that the idea of a sustained and structured cultural connect between people of different regions was mooted by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India during the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (31st October 2015) on the occasion of Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel to celebrate cultural diversity through mutual interaction and reciprocity between people of different states and UTs. The canvas of EK BHARAT SHRESTHA BHARAT encompasses all the states and UTs of India. In this activity, students learned about the remarkable unity of most of the major Indian languages, their origins and sources, as well as their rich inter influences and differences. The students learned about the special features of Meghalaya &Arunachal Pradesh. They came to know that Meghalaya’s literacy rate is as high as 75.8%, languages used are Khasi, Pnar & Ghaso. Their staple food is rice and spicy meat or fish and its population comprises indigenous tribes. Arunachal Pradesh is nicknamed India’s land of the rising sun. Here is the first place in India that receives morning sunlight. One of the exciting facts about Arunachal Pradesh is that it is the largest of the seven sister states in Northeast India, spread over 83,743 km. This activity gave them both a sense of unity and the beautiful cultural heritage and diversity of India and this would be a wonderful icebreaker for their whole lives as they meet people from other parts of India.
