As per instructions issued by CBSE through Circular No- 130/2023, the Annual Sports Day at Alma Mater Day Boarding School was organized on 9th December, 2023 in the sports ground within the school premises. A number of vibrant sports activities and colourful cultural programmes were presented on the occasion. The sports mega show got off to a ceremonial start with the welcome of Chief-Guest Mr. Vinay Kumar, AD Basic Education Officer, Bareilly. He was received by the Chairman Captain Rajeev Dhingra, Director Mr. Pratyaksh Dhingra, and Principal Mr. Shubhendu Dutta. The school colour party escorted him to the designated zone. The mentor Mrs. Poonam offered him a sapling to mark the formal welcome. Speaking on the occasion, AD Basic Education lauded the efforts made by the school Management and the staff members. ‘Such programmes give tremendous opportunity to the students to build confidence and shine out in their chosen fields,’ he quipped. The event began with the March-Past in which the troops of four Houses, namely; Uranus, Neptune, Saturn, Pluto were led by their respective captains, holding the emblem of their house. The Chief-Guest took salute from the saluting dais. The school band also supplemented the school contingent. Close on heels was performed Swagat Dance in honour of the Chief-Guest. Then came a speech delivered by the Chairman Captain Dhingra. The keynote address was followed by Monetary Award to the Winner of the March-Past. Meanwhile, the trainers from Scouts and Guides were also felicitated with a memento. A large number of activities ranging from Yoga, Gymnastics, Chess, Taekwondo, Cycling, etc. were performed alongside cultural events such as Vasudev Kutumbhakam Dance, Bhangra Dance, European Dance, etc. Besides, a Mock Drill on Evacuation of Students in the school campus, after an earthquake, was conducted successfully. The main feature of the programme was the huge participation of students. At the end, Dispersal Parade, similar to Curtain Call was arranged in which all the participants waved to the jubilant crowd.
